Crystal Seagulls are a new North London based band with four highly talented songwriters and musicians with a growing host of loyal fans. Headlining a stage at this year’s Brisfest, and a whole string of gigs in London, they are delivering their unique brand of tight, punchy and original Brit-rock.
Jim Lawton (21) lead and backing vox, rhythm guitars. The only Londoner in the band with eyebrows capable of rivalling those of Noel Gallagher, Kelly Jones, and Groucho Marx – and an attitude to match all three.
John Armstrong (23) lead and backing vox, bass and rhythm guitars. The Brummy of the group has a mouth so dirty that it dissolves soap but with a voice so angelic that it can exorcise demons.
Elz Whitty (20) lead and rhythm guitars, backing vox. From Cheshire, Elliot is multi-talented musician equally at ease playing classical, jazz and fusion, with a great voice and superlative song-writing and arranging skills.
Ben Heliczer (19) – drums, percussion and groove-master. The Hertfordshire heart throb and effortless King of the Shuffle.
This north/south union was born at the ICMP, a London music college in February 2012 where the band knew that together they will make it happen.
Influenced by The Beatles, The Kinks, Oasis, The Libertines and many more, their flawless harmonies, gritty licks and witty lyrics that have impressed everyone along with their unique style, performance and musicianship.
Crystal Seagulls have just released a new EP now available on iTunes and now on a CD infusing the infectious sounds of the sixties, the swagger of the nineties whilst delivering a whole new style of music.
